Symptoms include thirst, dry skin, loss of appetite, fatigue, dark urine, chills and head rushes. If fluids are not replenished then muscle cramps, nausea and vomiting, decreased sweating and urination, increase heart rate and respiration can result. Worst case demands immediate attention with confusion, unconsciousness, difficulty breathing, racing pulse, shriveled skin, and muscle spasms or seizures.

One way to know if someone is dehydrated is by looking if his fingernails. If the cuticles are cracked, it is an indicator that the person has not been consuming enough water. Another symptom is dry, cracked, peeling lips.

one of the simplest symptoms of dehydration is the feeling of thirst. if you are thirsty, then your body is telling you that you are already lacking water in your body. next is poor skin turgor (loss of skin elasticity), sunken eyeballs, and dry oral mucosa.

The most common early (and mild) symptoms, include thirst and a loss of appetite. Although you may also notice fatigue and a darker colored urine. If allowed to progress, dehydration can begin to cause more dire symptoms, such as vomiting or even unconsciousness.
