If you have disk brakes then start by pulling the wheels. Then unbolt the calipers and slide out the old pads. Next you compress the cylinder until the new pads will slide over the rotor. Then you bolt everything back together. If you have disk the the process is similar you just need to remove the pads differently.

You mean the brake pads. Loosen tire nuts. Jack up until tire hangs a bit. Continue loosen tire nuts remove tire. See the brake set now? Use a wrench loosen the nuts that holds the brake set at the upper end. pull down. remove old pads, outer and inner.

In order to replace the brakes on your Subaru then you will first have to get to the brakes then replace them.
