If he's suddenly too busy for you all the time, doesn't ever call you, doesn't answer your phone calls, stops displays of affection (public and private), or just generally seems disconnected he may want to break up. He may also just be really busy, so talk it out.

If you have this feeling then something is definitely going on. You should talk to him in a calm manner; men don't respond well to being attacked. Ask him if he feels you are growing apart. Ignoring it will not make it better; it will probably divide you even more.

He isn't calling regularly, doesn't make space and time for you in his schedule, seems to prefer being with his friends, is not affectionate, etc. If there is a change from his usual behavior, why not just ask him? You're better off knowing what the situation is, and if he DOES want to break up, move on.

Emotional withdrawal, a tendency to criticize more than usual or a sense that your partner would rather be somewhere else than with you can all be signs of impending break-up.

The primary sign is that he is bored or he feels like being with you is a chore and tries to avoid it.
