Puberty is often noticeable in a boy when he starts growing hair on his face or starts to form muscles. They also start to grow in physical stature and also have a higher interest in girls or dating. Puberty is also noticeable if they start to grow out of their clothes.

Puberty is typically pretty obvious. A major growth spurt in height, possible facial hair or increased hair growth in other areas(armpits, genitals, legs/arms), and, usually the most noticeable, the changing of the voice from squeaks to a deeper 'manly' voice.
