Bladder infection symptoms include frequent burning urination, sometimes blood tinged. Urgency and inability to make it to the bathroom may accompany the burning. Untreated bladder infections can affect the kidneys.

Look for a fever, sore lower back, and a reluctance to urinate. Also, if you can collect some urine in a clear cup, look to see if it's cloudy or if there is visible blood. If any of this occurs, take your toddler to your pediatrician. He or she may recommend you see a specialist.
