Several categories of people qualify--elderly over 65, blind, disabled, pregnant,and children under 18, IF there is low income and resources. Applicant must be a U. S. citizen or a lawfully admitted immigrant. Rules relating to income/resource ceiling vary with state residency. Apply and have a case worker evaluate.

First you must apply at your local Department of Human Services Office. Your income must be lower than the qualification to be on Medicaid.
