Pro's are predictable periods, lighter periods. Con's are it is a triphasic pill so skipping periods is not as easy as with other pills. Other con's depend on the person who is using it, but it may cause bloating, decreased sex drive, mood swings. The best way to find out if it works for you is trying it 3 months.

I use Ortho Tricyclen Lo, and I'm going to switch because it's expensive. Also, I have been "spotting" for almost a month I'm going to switch. No one wants a period for a month straight, even if it's a light one!

Ortho Tricyclen carries the same risks as any oral contraceptive. Most side effects are not serious, weight gain, spotting, leading to the more serious such as heart disease and high blood pressure. These are increased by smoking. The cons are plentiful, regulated periods, pregnancy prevention, and a hormonal balance. Always consult your doctor when taking any medication.
