What are the pros and cons of DSL vs. cable?

Cable is much faster and more secure and is basically the standard for people's internet. The only thing that DSL might be better that is a cheaper price and more customer support. Other than that, cable is the clear cut winner!

With DSL, you have a private gateway to the internet. Therefore, the advertised speed tends to always be constant. Cable is not private, however. You have to share this connection with other cable users. This can cause slow speed at times of high internet usage.

Pros of DSL: No delay in flash or java games, rarely down. Cons of DSL: Slower speeds, sometimes has usage limits. Pros of cable: Alot faster then DSL, you can even download multi files easy. No usage limits. Cons of cable: Delay in flash/java games, can be down alot.

With DSL, if you want to move the computer to a different room, all you have to have is an existing phone jack, which most everyone already has.

dsl internet uses the phone line.. if you have dsl you will have to request from your cable company special filters for your phones or else you will get static
