Make sure the hair is seperated before applying, start at the tips because roots lighten more quickly, and make sure the product is evenly distributed. Some steps are not listed because they will depend on the individual product, so read the box carefully.

Apply color to dry hair. Do not apply color to ends of hair until you are ready to rinse. Comb through to the ends not to exceed five minutes.
