You will show the property to prospective renters. You may or may not have responsibility to check the credit history and references of prospective renters. You may collect rent for the owner or make visits to those late on their rent. You will verify the property's condition upon a renter leaving and have it cleaned for next showing.

Normally, in most circumstances, a property manager is reponsible for all day to day aspects of running an apartment complex. The property manager is in charge of maintenance of the property, including the surroundings and individual living spaces. Tenants will usually contact the property manager if they have any concerns.

Most property managers have to oversee the safety and cleanliness of the building, report anything that is unsafe, maintain health codes, oversee employees, and report back to owners with updates.
