How does a department store change its perception?

Answer by  Dot75 (32)

Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman-Marcus, Macy's. Macy's has done a good job of changing its perception from more upscale oriented to a broader market by incorporating well-known and familiar spokespersons in its advertising making it more appealing to all. Neither Saks nor Neiman-Marcus have, in my opinion, done so.

Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus certainly have this reputation, as do Macy's and Sak's Fifth Avenue. A department store must change the stock and services it offers as well as the atmosphere of the store to influence people's opinions of it.
