What are the medicinal benefits of chaparral? Is it spice or an herb?

Chaparrell is a herb which is commonly found in the southwestern part of the United States and Mexico. This herb is also known as stinkweed, due to its really fowl smell and taste. The Chaparrell herb is rich in antioxidants. The herb has been used to treat burns. Other uses include using it to relieve the symptoms of bronchitis.
