In nail polish there are often many chemical ingredients that allow the nail polish to not only go on smooth and hold a particular color or gloss, but also harden. Unfortunately some of these chemicals, including toluene and formaldehyde, are toxic and have been linked to cancer.

My nail polish contains: Acetone, Water, Propylene Carbonate, Dimethyl Succinate/Adipate/Adipate, Glycerin, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Gelatin, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Denatonium Benzoate, and D&C colors. Different types will have a variation on these ingredients. For instance, a non-acetone nail polish obviously will not have acetone.
