80's hair was big hair. Woman's long hair was permed, back combed, and wind swept. Short hair had a boyish look. Men's hair was longer than it is now, using gels and moose to make it stay. Both men and women had heavy bangs, longer hair on top than at the sides.

The 80s hairstyle is a defining fashion point. Females had many options. First, many girls grew their hair very long. They had long layers or no layers at all. They would spray the top of their hair up in a poof and let the straight hair fall around it. They also used rollers or scrunching product to make many curls.

There were the waterfall bangs which is created by using a lot of hairspray, blowdryer, curling iron and back-combing, the side ponytail by pulling hair to the side, backbrushing to make the hair as big and poofy as possible. Feathering your hair so it has soft layers. Wings as well.
