I would say, like more volume in clothing (like bubble skirts and puffed sleeves), necklines that go really low, short shorts, layered chain necklaces, and big bags.

Leggings under skirts were one of the trends that gained popularity in late 2006. I'd also say that this is when vests started coming back in style.
