stronger all round upper body, especially back and biceps. also, depending on the direction you face your hands you may get a good forearm work out.

Chin-ups are resistance exercises that uses your body weight for the resistance instead of weights. The exercise works the biceps or triceps (depending on the grip), some slight work on the chest, and the core (abs and back). Underhand grip for biceps and overhand grip for triceps. A wide grip will also work the shoulders.
