The human skeleton is divided into two parts: the axial skeleton, the central portion of the body; and the appendicular skeleton, made up of the extremities, shoulders, and pelvis.
The skeleton refers to the entire bone structure of the body. This includes bones mostly and the different parts of those. The bones contain marrow which creates white blood cells and is essentially to survival. The skeleton may also refer to the ligaments that hold the bones together keeping the body in one piece.
