Mononucleosis, "the kissing disease," is a viral disease, very common in teens. Recovery can be lengthy, but most kids have no long-term effects. Leukemia is blood cancer. There are many types of leukemia, some far more responsive to treatment than others. It is your doctor's job to explain these things so that you understand and are not unduly stressed.

Leukemia is cancer, Mono is a viral infection. The symptoms can be similar. Some Mono symptoms can also be that of Leukemia. Leukemia symptoms include unusual bleeding and excessive bruising, abdominal pain, or a feeling of fullness. Mono and Leukemia share symptoms, but Mono includes symptoms such as severe sore throat.

Leukemia is a very serious form of cancer that affects the blood. It is a difficult cancer to treat due to the fact that it is in the blood. Mono is simply a viral infection that the body will create antibodies to fight. Mono is much less serious than Leukemia.

Leukemia is cancer affecting either the blood or the bone marrow where the blood is produced. Mono is a viral infection that causes fever, sore throat, and swollen lymph glands.
