In the Confucian system, a divine being does not have a significant role; his philosiphy is man-centered and relies on self-effort. Man is sufficient to attain the ideal character through self-effort, education, and self-reflection. The goal of life was to live a good moral life. After his death Buddism added a spritual component.
Confucius believed in God, the Lord of Heaven Whom they worship and to Whom they offer sacrifices. He believed, to earth, sun, moon, stars, clouds and mountains sacrifices are to be offered seperately.
