Usually it is cheapest to travel between two major cities. For example, there are very affordable rates between Philly or D.C. and New York City. Greyhound and Peterpan provide service, but now there are competitors that push the rates down to as low as 10 dollars each way. Travel to smaller cities can be more expensive.
