Canon SD 780 IS is a great small point & shoot camera. Not only is the still picture quality great but the video recording is rather well done too. It records in 720p and has built in image stabilization. Overall, it's a great camera and I recommend it.

Some of the best small cameras nowadays are digital ones made by Samsung. In my experience, these cameras take very good pictures and are relatively inexpensive.

I enjoy the Canon PowerShot SD1300-IS. It takes a high quality picture while being compact enough to fit in my pocket.

Your best bet for a small camera would be the Canon SD1400. It's the same price as a 7010, but has some amazing features, including 14.1mp.

The best small cameras are made by nikon or canon. Any type of model will do. I heard really great things about the 7010. This camera is great for travel and versatile to take the best shots.
