It depends on your song and your preferences, as well as your hardware. Generally there will be settings available for each genre of music by preset. With any hardware that is less than studio quality, you'll find that lowering the high-pitch and upping the bass levels will result in better sound quality.

The best equalizer settings enable fullest bass sound, because that's what is missing from recorded sound as apposed to live sound.

The best settings are either 70/30 if you want to play something loud or you may want to go with 50/50 if your sound is not that loud but is of neutral quality.
