What are tamales?

I've always been afraid to try them because I don't know what they are.

Tamales are made from Mazo and lard mixed into a paste that is then rolled around seasoned, shredded beef, chicken or pork. A dried corn husk that has been soaked in water for many hours and then drained is used to wrap the tamale in and keep its shape. Tamales are delicious. Try one!

Tamales is a mixture of hamburger meat, peppers and spices placed rolled in corm meal and place in a cornhusk. The cornhusk is removed prior to eating. It is on the spicy side but really good. I like it with a side of lettuce, tomato and guacamole. Hope you enjoy!

I have seen lots of different fillings in tamales, but i haven't seen hamburger meat (i presume you mean ground beef) - i usually see pulled pork, or shredded beef along with chiles, onion and garlic  add a comment

Tamales are made from corn meal dough that's made from hominy, some people like it without any filling while others love the filling. You can fill them with just about anything from any type of poultry to any type of cheese. they are steamed until firm.
