i think one of the best ways is used in a motorcycle called env. The motorcycle uses hydrogen particles to make electricity. This saves on the use of petroleum.

First and foremost If we could stop using oil, by having more wind and solar energy that would be awesome. Also it's very important to recycle. Sort through your garbabge and create a compost pile too. Compost piles are very useful, and by growing your own vegetables you will save on finite recources of shipping them to your local stores.
