Make or buy heart shaped place mats. Place a paper rose on the napkin holders. Buy red and/or white flowers for a centerpiece. They can be fake or real. Any candles used should be unscented because food is being served. Use a white tablecloth with red place mats. Serve red wine in fine goblets.

For an elegant setting, use layers of lace -- double your tablecloths and use lace napkins and placemats. Use old children's Valentines and glue to build a house-of-cards centerpiece. Line the charger plate with chocolates and mix conversation hearts in with your sugar cubes.
