Latin translation can be very tricky if a person does not understand Latin grammar. Every beginning Latin translator should find the verb in the sentence because it will tell the translator to bits of information: what you should look for as a subject and direct object. WIth that information, putting together a sentence will be easier.

Translating from Latin to English is not easy. The grammar is extremely different, so you both need to have a solid knowledge of grammar, and a dictionary to find words.

First of all, get a very good translation dictionary. Then you'll have to know Latin grammar, because a word (verb or not) takes a different form when it refers to being the subject, the recipient or a specific person in the phrase. Learn also a Latin derived language, like Portuguese.
