Start small at first. Use Miracle Grow fertilizer or if you chose natural fertilizers. Composting is great for garden soil. If you plan on planting tomatos cut the bottom and top off of a veggie can and plant tomato plant in the center of the can. This helps keep cutworms off. stockings, tape from VHS for tie ups. PM water.

Start small, and make your garden larger as you learn the ropes. Gardens require more time and effort for preparing soil, weeding, and watering than most people think.

A beginning vegetable gardener should learn about what kind of soil they have and how to improve it, and then do so. They should learn what crops do well in their area, and when to plant them. They should learn how to deal with the pests that appear in the garden, and how to harvest the produce.

Remember to not go over board. Pick out 2 or 3 of your favorite vegatables. Think about how much time that you are going to have to put into your garden.Remember to make it you own. This is your garden,no one else's. Also remember to have fun, make it a family affair.
