Stage makeup is put on much thicker than regular makeup in order to be seen by people far in the back. It also helps to tone down any redness.

The first thing you want to remember when putting on stage makeup is that you will be under harsh lights so not only will you want to make sure that your makeup will appear flattering in the lighting but also that it's waterproof because you don't want to sweat your makeup all off.

Stage makeup should be bolder and brighter than makeup you would usually wear. Make sure that you wear a lot of blush, bright red or pink lipstick and a lot of eye liner so that all of your features really pop onstage.
