The number one sign of infertility is being repeatedly unsuccessful when trying to have children. Short of damaged genitalia, there are no visible external indicators which could tell you that you are infertile, however a doctor could identify an internal problem and potentially fix it.

Outside of a full work-up by a reproductive endocrinologist, the only sign may be trouble conceiving. Some women with irregular periods have trouble conceiving, others do not. For men, there are typically no obvious signs of infertility.

A major sign is lack of ovulation, which you manifest itself through irregular menstral cycles. If you are having unprotected regular intercourse for more than a year (or six months if you are over 35), then you should be seeking medical help as this is the medical definition of infertility.

For women, a viable sign of infertility is an irregular menstrual cycle. Menstrual cycles accompanied by severe cramps may be an indication of an underlying infertility issue. Additionally, successive miscarriages, lack of ovulation signals, failure to conceive after several months of intercourse, and hormonal imbalances can all be signs of infertility.
