One of my favorite past times is creating websites. I recently created a website for my local church as a volunteer project. This volunteer project led to a paid website creation and maintenance job with a local theatre organization.

Anything can be profitable as long as you spin it the right way and can create a demand for it. Hobbies that produce things are the most obviously profitable. For example knitting, sewing, painting and the likes have end products that can be sold. Visit craft fairs for ideas of what you can make & sell.

Most profitable hobbies tend to be those that can create something people can either wear or display proudly at home. Crocheting and knitting have become a little popular again and many people seem to make good money via sites like etsy. Jewelery making, creating plush characters, drawing and sketching, all of those can also turn profit.
