The best way to practising posing for modelling is to study other model's poses in magazines and copy them yourself in the mirror or in test photoshoots. The best way to deal with awkwardness is to be confident and not be afraid to act and experiment. Remember that modelling is highly competitive, assess whether or not it is worth pursuing.

Be aware of where the light is, remember to breathe and relax. Keep in mind how you place your arms and legs and how you hold your hands.

The most important thing to remember is to act natural. Do not look nervous and try to look confident, like you are in control of the situation. Always point you toes to make your legs look longer and try to avoid squinting even when bright lights are shining. Try to imagin yourself in a natural pose.

You need to become really comfortable with yourself. Not just with how you look but yourself as a person in the world. Create your own identity. Sit down and think of 100 things you want to accomplish in your life. It will set you apart from other people that you can define yourself by your poses.
