A basket filled with scented pinecones and small pine needles is pretty and adds a very nice scent to the room. A votive candle in a wine glass with pretty ribbon in wintery colors wrapped loosly along the stem is also a simple but very classy centerpiece.

Use colors that represent the winter season such as light blues, silver and white. You can do clear glass vases, filled with light blue marble stones and add a few white flowers. Or instead of flowers, spray paint a branch white, stick that in the vase, and hang a few silver ornaments, or snowflakes for decoration
