Planting shrubs that do not have dense leaves or branhes would still allow air to be pulled into the air conditioning unit.

Air conditioners can be so unsightly in a well-tended yard. Vigorous evergreen shrubs planted around the unit can combat the problem nicely. Be sure to leave enough clearance for access and good ventilation.

I generally find that it's a good idea to put rocks or mulch around an air conditioner. With this, you won't need to mow around it.

First I would build a short lattice fence for around the air conditioner. Then I would plant some low shrubs mixed with black eye susan plants. These are perennials.

the main point to be careful is as dust may enter the vent so best is to first spray water in the surrounding areas the use shovelto scrap or if you have tractor use the blade that is used for leveling in the field. or cover the air comditioner then use vaccum
