Take your shoes off at the door, bring gifts (flowers or American delicacies) that are wrapped in brightly colored paper, allow for someone to direct you to your dining table seat, wait for the eldest person to begin eating first before proceeding and bow graciously before leaving. Lastly, handle glasses and bowls with both hands and never refuse a drink.

In Korea, it is very important to show respect for people who are older than you are, even if they are older only by a day. Bowing is considered appropriate are there are different ways of speaking to people who are older. Koreans place great value on working in groups.
