I've found that a lot of the best Valentine's Day poems are actually songs! Tupac has a nice song entitled "Dear Mama" that is nice.

The best ones to write to a mom are actually the typical roses are red poem. If your looking to impress your Mom by some fancy work, then use something by Shakespeare or Edgar Allan Poe.
