What are some good punk rock bands?

There are many punk rock bands. Some of the most popular today are Linkin Park, my Chemical romance, and Green Day. However, Punk rock started in the 70's with The Sex Pistols, Ramones, and The Clash. It originated in England and America. Some other punk rock bands include The Boys, Revenge, and the London Cowboys.

There are some bands that are considered "proto-punk", but the first, and definitive, punk band was the Ramones. When they toured the UK in 1976, they inspired the great British punk bands like the Sex Pistols and the Clash. Other great bands in genre are Social Distortion and Green Day.
