Ivy-leaf geranium (Pelargonium peltatum), spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum), milkwort (Polygala myrtifolia), vomitwort (Lobelia), ivy with small leaves (Hedera helix), fuchsia and petunia are good for hanging baskets.

For indoors, wandering jew and spider plant are great for hanging baskets. For outdoors, fuchsia and various types of ivies are very nice.

Italian bellflowers, fuchsias, geraniums, million bells, lobelia, these are all cascading and trailing plants. Never put an upright plant in a hanging basket as you you will see are stems.

Bleeding hearts make an outstanding plant for a hanging basket. You can also do cucumbers they are pretty as well when they are in flower.
