Keeping the context of the conversation in mind, formulate questions in your native language that you would utilize. From there, translate them and double check your work.
Some basic interview questions:
Como te llamas (what is your name)
De donde vienes (where are you from)
cuantos anos tienes (how old are you)
Estas soltero o casado (are you married or single)
Cual es tu color favorito (what is your favorite color)
Try asking about the person's home country and culture, and how said culture differs from that of the country you live in now. Try to integrate as much as possible about foreign cultures, it enriches interviews for foreign language classes.
Students could practice describing themselves, their hobbies, family members and pets, likes and dislikes, and other personal attributes. They may also like to share opinions on movies, music, or books.
