Gift certificates for food or movies are a great way to go for teens. Avoid giving them clothes. Another idea is itunes gift certificate.

This really depends on the sex of the teenager. For girls anything from clothes, make-up, jewelry, itunes gift cards, shopping gift cards would be great. Teens are usually about the latest big thing, so anything new they'll want it.

I'm nineteen so I can tell you exactly what a teenager would want. Most kids would want the Visa Gift Cards. It's similar to a credit card, but with a limit. If you want to go more personal, find out what their biggest hobby is. Then look into it online or something.
