Good plant experiments will test how changing one variable changes the plants, and will have an objective way to measure that change. You could determine what color light allows plants to grow the tallest or what type of plant food makes plants sprout the fastest or grow the tallest.

You can grow the same type of plant under different conditions to figure out what is essential for the plant to develop and grow. You can also try to find out how they respond to different soil, et cetera.
