Some of the simpliest yet decorative entrance gates I have seen have a neutral stucco brick facade with a nice black iron gate. This seems to effectively work without drawing too much attention.
If all the houses look the same or similar, so should the gates. Best keep them simple, functional and in line with the architecture. Maybe get inspiration from the balconies?
