He was an Italian scientist philosopher who helped usher in what we would consider modern science and astronomy. He was an early user of telescopes and worked on refining them both in structure and in use. he taught in Pisa Italy. He discovered several moons around Jupiter and the rings around Saturn. his daughter was in a convent.

Born February 15, 1564 in Pisa. Attended the University of Pisa. Taught at University of Padua. Father, Vincenzo, was a musician. 1631 to 1642 lived in Villa il Gioiello (The Jewel) in Florence. Went blind in 1638. Died January 8, 1642 in Florence. Had three illegitimate children with mistress.
