A couple of examples of similes would be "this room is like an oven" or "Her hair flowed like a waterfall. "

A simile is a comparison of two different things using either 'like' or 'as', ie "He's as dumb as a bag of hammers. " "She moved like the wind. " "The girl was as sharp as a tack. " "His mind seemed like molasses. " "They were as dead as door nails. "
