The belief that one's own ethnic or cultural group is better than another leads to practices that isolate or exclude members of another ethnicity. Jim Crow laws, segregation, Apartheid, the Holocaust, white supremacists (such as the Aryan Nation), genocide (as in Rwanda), the Ku Klux Klan, and xenophobia are all examples of ethnocentrism in action.
