What are some classic children's toys?

The big ones that come to mind are blocks, dolls, and stuffed animals. Children have been enjoying those toys for a long time. They wouldn't be that hard to make out of what people could afford back in the day before toys became they would be easy to make out of scraps of material they had in their homes.

I think the greatest classic toy (or at least the one I loved the most as a kid, and my niece and newphews seem to love just as much nowadays) is Lego. Endless creative hours can be had with Legos. Other favorites include the Slinky and Mr. Potatohead.
