Frequent urination can have many causes. Too much caffeine intake will make you go a lot. This can also be a symptom of diabetes or early pregnancy. You will probably need a doctor's evaluation for this problem if it presists. Last but not least, some people have over active bladders and that can be medically treated also.

Various bladder conditions may warrant medication for the frequent urge to go. Be sure to look into whether you have diabetes, which often increases urination as well as thirst.

The most common causes of frequent urination are urinary tract infection, enlarged prostate, diabetes and pregnancy. Medications and bladder cancer are two other causes.

How frequent is frequent? If you keep yourself highly hydrated, it's perfectly normal to urinate every one to hours. More important than frequency is the color of urine. If you urinate frequently and your urine is not clear in color, you should see your doctor. You might have a different infection or (unlikely) something more serious like a bladder blockage.
