What are racing pads made of?

The pads that car manufacture's put in their racing cars are made out of many different composite materials. For example mercedes and ferrari put carbon fibre in the centre of their pads tomake them stronger.

The main differences between street pads and race pads are the materials. Racing pads tend to have more expensive man-made material. These help the pads to be aggressive while at the same time stay fade free. These pads commonly used a lot of carbon.

The brake pads for racing cars are mostly carbon ceramic, which has a thick carbon fibre layer inside to make it hard and strong and ceramics on the outside.
