Car bodies are typically made of metal due to ease of manufacturing. A fibreglass or composite body can usually be found on very high performance road cars (such as a Ferrari) and racing cars. This is due to composite bodies being lighter weight and expense not being a factor.

Most cars are made out of fiberglass today. They do this because it is better for fuel economy and it is cheaper to fix if something happens.
