Before you disclose any information ask them to sign paperwork that they are willing to pay you the finders fee so there is no confusion later on.

Ask if there is a finder's fee if the item is returned. Ask if they will compensate you if you come to them to deliver the found item.

First, ask if there is a reward. If possible, get copies of the fliers that stated you get a reward from them before returning the item. Then give it to them.
