An "edge up" is normally used by African American men. It is used to keep side burns and the hairline fresh in style. Also, an edge up is used to keep hair at the back of the neck even between cuts.
It's a term used for fixing the outline of your hair. Usually this term applies to black men who are straightening their hairline, sideburns, or neck line in order to make the hair cut look new and fresh.
